Ahead of the announcement, McFarlane teased that a Spawn movie announcement would be made on Wednesday, and that information has just arrived in the form of an exclusive report from THR. The long-gestating reboot is having its screenplay rewritten from scratch but with some big names in the comic book industry involved. Reportedly, Joker co-writer Scott Silver is teaming up with The Falcon and the Winter Soldier‘s Malcolm Spellman, who’s also co-writing the upcoming movie Captain America: New World Order, along with rising scribe Matthew Mixom to pen the new Spawn script.
