After the new teaser trailer for The Super Mario Bros. Movie was released, Nintendo fans are already looking forward to a potential movie based on The Legend of Zelda. Back in the 1980s, The Legend of Zelda was developed as a cartoon series, but it’s never been given a proper feature film adaptation. That likely stems in part from the live-action Super Mario Bros. movie tanking in 1993, leading Nintendo to be much more apprehensive about allowing movies to be made based on its most popular franchises.
