In 2011, Rupert Wyatt, director of the 2008 feature, The Escapist, reworked the iconic film Planet of the Apes. It was a grand venture, especially given the classic nature of the 1968 original screenplay with leading man Charlton Heston. However, even this earlier work was an adaptation of Pierre Boulle’s 1964 literary work, La Planete des Singes (Planet of the Apes), so expectations were tempered.
