Over five decades later, the classic film Easy Rider is getting the remake treatment. Variety reports that the movie, released in 1969, has a remake that’s in early development from current rights-holders including Kodiak Pictures, Eric B. Fleischman of Defiant Studios, and the Jean Boulle Group. At this time, the story hasn’t yet been crafted as the producers are on the search for bold filmmakers to write and/or direct the film. The idea is to “update the project for modern times with the same fringe spirit” as the original, pointing to how the Creed movies successfully brought new life into the Rocky series.
