Halloween Ends didn’t deliver… it’s that simple. Director David Gordon Green took over as the creative brain trust behind a new interpretation of John Carpenter’s classic slasher flick Halloween (1978). And in 2018, 40 years after the seminal film debuted in theaters, Green’s take on Michael Myers (Nick Castle) and Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) exhilarated audiences. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said of its subsequent sequels Halloween Kills (2021) and Halloween Ends.
