Avengers: The Kang Dynasty Loses Its Director as Destin Daniel Cretton Exits MCU Project

Amid recent rumors about a major change of direction for the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that seeks to leave aside the story of Kang the Conqueror, director Destin Daniel Cretton exits Avengers: The Kang Dynasty to focus on another Marvel Studios project. Cretton, who began his career in 2012 with the film I Am Not a Hipster, joined the MCU in 2021 with Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings which, for many, is one of the best films of the most recent phases. Thanks to the positive reception of the movie starring Simu Liu, that same year the filmmaker signed a multi-project deal with the company, and in 2022 he was announced as the director of the saga’s first major crossover since Avengers: Endgame. Unfortunately, it looks like The Kang Dynasty will have to look for a new director.
