Jonathan Glazer Hit by 500 Jewish Signatories of Letter Against Oscar Speech

It’s been eight days since MovieWeb was at the 96th Academy Awards, and there are still thunderous rumbles in Hollywood over the Best International Film acceptance speech given by Jonathan Glazer for The Zone of Interest. While the speech (which was misleadingly misquoted by Variety and other outlets) may seem harmless to many people, decrying any act of dehumanization and murder, be they committed by Nazi or Hamas, Israeli or Houthi, American or Iranian. It touched a particular nerve for its analogies, however, and now more than 500 Jewish artists and professionals in the film industry have signed a letter denouncing the speech.
