Following its eagerly anticipated Cannes premiere, the first reviews for Kinds of Kindness, the second partnership between director Yorgos Lanthimos, and Emma Stone, Willem Dafoe, and Margaret Qualley in a year, have dropped online. The new film, which jumps from the steampunk, sci-fi setting of Poor Things to the hyper-sexualised and hyper-stylized modern day, is a triptych narrative, following three interwoven stories. Kinds of Kindness centers on a man who tries to re-take control of his own life, a woman who searches for someone with a special ability and a policeman whose wife feels like a completely different person.
