We spoke with Doctor Jekyll director Joe Stephenson leading up to the release of his new British horror film that is reigniting the famed Hammer Films brand. Since 1934, the studio which wasn’t initially involved in Stephenson’s film but would later lend its hand has produced acclaimed projects that feature the iconic characters of Frankenstein, Dracula, and more. And now, Stephenson has helmed a modern reimagining of the famed 1886 novella about two other fictional icons: Jekyll & Hyde.
