Jenna Ortega has finally spoken publicly about the firing of her Scream “sister,” Melissa Barrera. Ortega played Tara Carpenter in the 2022 revival of the slasher franchise, with Barrera playing her sibling, Sam. Despite returning for Scream VI, and being set to lead the upcoming seventh installment, things fell apart quickly when Barrera was cut from the movie for sharing social media posts that Spyglass Media Group viewed as being anti-Semitic. A day later, it was announced that Ortega had also dropped out of the movie, citing scheduling conflicts with the second season of Netflix’s, Wednesday. Even though other rumors have circulated as to why Ortega departed, the actress has not spoken directly on the matter.
