The production company behind Top Gun: Maverick is going back to the 1990s for its next attempt at a film franchise. According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, Skydance has hired Derek Connolly to pen the script for a live-action adaptation of the Sega video game Eternal Champions. There is no timeframe for production on the film yet, and it also has no studio attached. However, with Paramount Global’s recent announcement that it has agreed to merge with Skydance, they have become the most likely landing spot for the video game flick.
