Salems Lot Fans Call for Max to Release Three-Hour Directors Cut

The 2024 reboot of Salems Lot made its premiere on Max on October 3, and to say that fans felt let down by the film would be putting it mildly. Directed by Gary Dauberman, this new version left much to be desired, and missed a lot of character development that made both the book and Tobe Hoopers 1979 TV miniseries so special. Word has since gotten out that Daubermans initial cut of the movie was three hours, but was then trimmed down to a lean 113 minutes, leading to many Stephen King fans and horror aficionados on social media calling for Max to release the Dauberman cut, much the same way DC fans did when they petitioned them to release the Zack Snyder cut of Justice League back in 2017.
