The studio tried to kill two of the most iconic elements in John Wick lore, director Chad Stahelski has revealed. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the first outing for Keanu Reeves assassin, Stahelski and fellow director David Leitch came together to discuss the legacy of the beloved action franchise, with the former revealing that financiers did not want Reeves to have a beard. If thats not already sacrilegious enough, prepare yourself, as the studio almost stopped the franchise in its tracks by trying to convince the pair not to kill off John Wicks dog. Beginning with the beard, Stahelski explains that the studio wanted Reeves to be as clean-shaven as he is in some of his most successful movies, such as Point Break, Speed, and The Matrix.
