There are many things you could call Ridley Scott, but lazy isn’t one of them. The 86-year-old director is still going strong, with his recently released Gladiator II smashing it at the box office (and earning mixed-to-positive reviews from critics). The film only just hit US theaters, but Scott already has plans for a trilogy. As the idea is still in development, very little is known about Gladiator III. But Ridley Scott just gave us a clue to work with, as he says the threequel will be inspired by one of the most iconic and divisive cinematic trilogies of all-time: The Godfather.
