After settling for second place over its opening weekend, Mufasa: The Lion King roared to life on Christmas Day to surprisingly win the domestic box office. The Lion King prequel dropped in theaters back on Dec. 20, along with Sonic the Hedgehog 3, but the video game adaptation got the better of the new Disney flick head-to-head. But Mufasa made a huge comeback on Dec. 25, not only outperforming Sonic 3, but the highly anticipated new titles: A Complete Unknown and Nosferatu, too.
