‘Nosferatu’ Director Reveals Why It Was Not Released In Black & White

Robert Eggers’s latest film, Nosferatu, does so many things that either pay homage to or honor the original Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror film that was released a little over 100 years ago. However, there is one key element that differentiates the film (besides the fact that it isn’t silent): the lack of black-and-white cinematograph. While the original film was shot that way out of pure necessity, black-and-white cinematography has become a stylistic choice more than anything.
