Zack Snyder’s 300, adapted from Frank Miller’s comic book of the same name, depicts the brutal battle between the 300 Spartan soldiers and the entire Persian army at the Battle of Thermopylae. Sometimes, life imitates art, as the cast and stunt team on 300 underwent a similar battle to even get the movie made. The film stars Gerard Butler as King Leonidas, the leader of the 300 Spartans, all of whom gave their lives fighting the Persians (we would say “spoilers,” but it’s real history). While Butler and his cast mates didn’t go that far on set, there were certainly some war wounds left behind.
