Benedict Cumberbatch Discusses ‘Zoolander 2’ Transphobic All Controversy

Benedict Cumberbatch recently reflected on his most controversial movie role to date, and revealed he has apologized profusely to audiences and fans for what was described by many as a transphobic performance. As well as bringing Sherlock Holmes to the 21st Century in the aptly titled Sherlock, and playing another eponymous hero in the MCU’s Doctor Strange, Cumberbatch has occasionally made some questionable project choices. Easily the worst of them all was to take on a small “satirical” role in the panned 2016 sequel, Zoolander 2, which saw Ben Stiller return as Derek Zoolander and Owen Wilson reprise the role of Hansel. Cumberbatch played a non-binary model, named All, and audiences hated the character.
