According to a new press release, “In a first of its kind, NEON is giving the gift of Osgood Perkins’ The Monkey to all of God’s children by making it available to screen in churches across the country simultaneously with theaters.” That’s right, and authorized religious institutions can submit their requests by going to the website God’s Bowling Strikes Tonight. Perkins apparently explained at the film’s premiere that the phrase stems from a time when someone told him that, when many people die at once, “God’s bowling strikes tonight.”
