Grammy-nominated musician and actress Janelle Monáe(Moonlight, Glass Onion) will portray the real-life con artist Tanya Smith in an upcoming heist film by Universal Pictures (per Variety). The crime thriller will be an adaptation of Smith’s riveting 2024 memoir Never Saw Me Coming: How I Outsmarted the FBI and the Entire Banking System—and Pocketed $40 Million. Monáe is also slated to serve as an executive producer on the project via her production company, Wondaland Pictures.
