That’s a testament to the director’s meteoric rise in the past year, thanks to his occult masterpiece Longlegs and his new Stephen King adaptation, a very dark splatter comedy, The Monkey. Before those films, Perkins was an indie auteur who made two of the best horror movies of the 2010s — The Blackcoat’s Daughter and I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House. So it makes sense that Perkins was feeling confident and optimistic when he spoke with MovieWeb to promote The Monkey. We asked him what’s in store for the director next.
