Greta Gerwig hasn’t even begun shooting her new take on C.S. Lewis’ The Chronicles of Narnia, but Netflix already views the film as the start of its next big franchise. As well as being one of the few Netflix original movies that has been granted an IMAX release, Gerwig’s Narnia could begin Netflix’s longest running film franchise so far. The past adaptation of Narnia, titled The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe was granted two sequels by Disney (Prince Caspian and The Voyage of the Dawn Treader), and managed to adapt three of the seven Chronicles of Narnia novels written by Lewis. But, Netflix apparently wants to take things much further than that.
