When James Gunn and Peter Safran took over as the Co-Chairmen of DC Studios, they made their goal as clear as possible: to build an interconnected universe of movies and television projects across various mediums. Not only that, but Gunn and Safran also wanted to also ensure that every project is standalone, and could be enjoyed without having to watch a previous film or television show before it.
