A Justice Department official believes she was fired from her job due to refusing to restore the gun rights to controversial actor Mel Gibson. Elizabeth G. Oyer is a US Justice Department pardon attorney appointed by Joe Biden in 2022. However, the role is not political, as her job is to supervise matters of clemency and recommendations for presidential pardons. She was working on a new project to restore gun ownership rights to individuals convicted of crimes and misdemeanors. The 95-person list was narrowed down to nine. One name not on that list was actor Mel Gibson.
