‘Mortal Kombat 2’ Will Be “Bigger” in Every Way, Director Simon McQuoid Promises

Warner Bros.’s 2021 reboot of Mortal Kombat was a fun and delightfully bloody film featuring plenty of fan service while telling a cohesive story anyone unfamiliar with the games could follow. It was a massive hit on the service formally known as HBO Max, becoming the most-streamed title of that year. But despite its overall quality, the movie suffered from both a lack of scope and a lack of female characters among its large and diverse cast. Both of which director Simon McQuoid promises will be addressed in the upcoming sequel Mortal Kombat 2.
