David Ayer Has Accepted That His Director’s Cut of ‘Suicide Squad’ Isn’t Up for Release Right Now

David Ayer, the director of films like The Beekeeper, Fury, and 2016’s Suicide Squad, has seemingly accepted that his cut of the superhero film based on nothing but villains won’t be released any time soon – but that doesn’t mean he is giving up on it either. On social media, the director often addresses the existence of his director’s cut, and, like with Zack Snyder’s Justice League, internet legions have created the hashtag movement #ReleaseTheAyerCut. However, Warner Bros. has not heard the pleas as they did with Snyder, and Suicide Squad: The Director’s Cut remains a shelved movie.
