Black Pantherdirector, Ryan Coogler, says that Chadwick Boseman, the actor who played the king of Wakanda, T’Challa, also known as Black Panther, found a way to stay in character throughout the production of the 2018 movie. Not only was Boseman fully committed to the role, but he also tried to maintain the African accent of his character. For some reason, this apparently freaked out the Disney executives, who would sometimes head to the set to supervise the shooting, and found it weird for the actor to continue to talk with his character’s accent when the cameras were off.
