After being unceremoniously cut out of Gladiator II, MCU star May Calamawy is now getting the chance at the spotlight in New Line Cinema’s upcoming reimagining of The Mummy. Evil Dead Rise director Lee Cronin is set to helm The Mummy, a new take on the iconic movie monster that has no relation to the previous Universal Monster franchises. Filming is currently underway in Ireland and Spain, and the film is set for release on Apr. 17, 2026.
