Jason Segel is going from being TV’s favorite therapist in Apple TV+’s Shrinking, to breaking audiences psychologically in his new movie Sponsor. Segel, who co-created Shrinking with Bill Lawrence and Brett Goldstein, has co-written Sponsor with the film’s director, James Ponsoldt (who directed several episodes of Shrinking). The upcoming psychological thriller is currently doing the sales rounds at the Cannes Market. There are some strong similarities between Shrinking and Sponsor, but, the new movie probably won’t leave you with that same warm and fuzzy feeling by the end of it.
