Released in 2012, Harmony Korine’s Spring Breakers received reasonably positive reviews from critics given its divisive subject matter, and it provided a more adult vehicle for its younger stars, Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens, and Ashley Benson, known for more light teen fare at the time.
