‘A Breed Apart’ Directors Explain Their “Different” Approach to “Unofficial” Wes Craven Sequel

It’s been 10 years since Wes Craven passed, but his legacy lives on. The horror master helmed a number of classics, from A Nightmare on Elm Street to Scream, and he also served as producer on countless other “scary movies.” More recently, there was The Breed (2006), a creature feature set in an island cabin and centered around ravenous dogs. Now, almost two decades later, the sequel A Breed Apartis being released to the masses courtesy of Lionsgate and helmed by Griff and Nathan Furst. MovieWeb recently spoke with the filmmaker brothers to learn more about their uniquely meta follow-up to The Breed, which, as you’ll find out, incorporates the actual production of the Craven-produced 2006 film into the plot itself.
