Alongside a selection of underrated DC Comics antagonists, and an original creation by writer/director James Gunn, Superman pits the eponymous Man of Steel (David Corenswet) against his most iconic foe, Lex Luthor (Nicholas Hoult), once again. Fans have seen Luthor portrayed many times on the big screen, from Kevin Spacey’s overly-confident iteration in 2006’s Superman Returns to Jesse Eisenberg’s weirdly skittish version in Batman Vs.
